Festival 2004

This year, I was very fortunate to have two plays entered into the Royal Navy Theatre Festival: HMS COLLINGWOOD produced the premiere of Denim and the Defence Academy produced the premiere of Mark of a Gentleman – which I ended up staring in (See The Mark of a Gentleman Challenge ramble).

As is normal with this theatre festival, it is all concluded with an Oscars style awards night held in the Wardroom of HMS SULTAN. Fifteen awards are handed out throughout the evening; and Denim and Mark of a Gentleman swept the board. Denim won the Best Overall Performance prize, meaning that JaysPlays has now attracted this award two years running; while Mark of a Gentleman won the Adjudicator’s Cup, commonly regarded as the second most influential award of the festival.

Other awards included Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Male Newcomer, Best Director and Best Sound. See Denim and Mark of a Gentleman for full details on the awards they attracted.

Can I take this opportunity to thank and congratulate both casts and crews for producing such amazing productions, that not only attracted so much silverware, but entertained such wonderful audiences – who are still contacting me to express how much they enjoyed themselves.
